A metal ladle is used when making rice or soups in a wok. The deep bowl of the ladle enables liquids, as well as larger ingredients such as chicken or fish, to be picked out.

DRAINING SPOON:

A wire spoon is used in deep frying to place the pieces of food in hot oil, to move them around during cooking and to lift them out. The handle is made out of bamboo or wood as these materials do not conduct heat.

STEAMER:

Bamboo steamers come in a variety of sizes, and can be stacked over the wok, allowing you to cook different dishes at the same time. They are often used with a lid.

CHOPSTICKS:

Chopsticks are available in two different lengths. Those used for cook are about 30cm (12in) long and are usually made with plain wood. They are most used in stir-frying, allowing the cook to move pieces of food around the wok quickly and easily. Those used for eating are often shorter and decorated.

BOWLS:

Chinese food is traditionally eaten from blue and white porcelain bowls, with a distinctive rice pattern set in the sides.the smaller sizes are used when serving soup. The special short spoon is just large enough to be used for holding noodles or chunks of food. Larger bowls are used for main courses.
